100% Maple Shells
Some Maple drums use a combo of maple ply and “filler” material. These drums are constructed form 6 plys of solid, quality maple. While the change in sound might be subtle the strength and build quality is noticeably better. Combine this with the design of the low-mass/low-contact shells you end up with a drum set that can tackle the rigours of the road without sacrificing tone or resonance.
High-quality finish
The ultra-thin 6-ply shells are built with Pearl’s SST technology with overlapping scarf-joint seams and proprietary AcoustiGlue. Both the interiors of the shells and the bearing edges have been hand treated. And the Reference-inspired Mini-Lugs, Opti-Lock suspension mounts, and UniLock tom arms are all built to tour-ready specs.
Optiloc Mounts
Pearl’s Opti-Loc Mounting System’s three-way attachment design uses rubber isolators at two tuning points and another at one of the drum’s two air vents. This creates maximum sustain and resonance while providing wobble-free performance so your drum stays just where you need it without reducing the resonance or natural feel of the drum.
